My Lord, let the way that I take be pleasing to Your heart. Keep watch over me by the envelopment of Your Holy Spirit. Do not let me become drunk with selfish desires that entice me into the enemy’s territory where arrows fly and flames are hurled at my exposed soul. Though I cannot be consumed because I am a child of God, the inflicted wounds may greatly hinder the work You have tasked me in this life. Lord, I do not wish to grant the enemy even one moment of triumph. Keep me, Jesus, within the safe grip of Your hand. Teach me to take care by remaining watchful of the traps of temptation. Let me become diligent in recognizing the subtle seduction of my own selfish inclinations. Grant me strength to resist being pulled away from my first love -You. Every lure of this world seeks to destroy the implanted Word of God so that the harvest does not produce good fruit. Let it not be so with Your beloved, Jesus. By Your power alone, my fields are well guarded as long as I do not leave the gate of my heart open to those who have not been granted access by You, my overseer. Under the Word of truth in Revelation 2:3-5 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
You have perseverance and have endured for My name’s sake,
and have not grown weary. But I have this against you,
that you have left your first love.
Therefore remember from where you have fallen,
and repent and do the deeds you did at first.
Revelation 2:3-5, NASB
