My Sovereign Lord, help Your beloved to embrace the dark seasons of my soul. Only You can quench the dryness of my heart. Only Your presence can relieve the loneliness of my solitary perceptions of reality. Strip away the necessity to pursue a happiness that is based in the shallows. Instead, draw me to the depths of joy which are skirted by darkness that births dependence on You. Let me not live in the false peace and comfort of this world when You offer me the true light that brings everlasting joy. Beckon me with that divine hush which the chords of my heart are tuned to hear. Draw me to the deep stillness where love abides so that roots of faith dig deep, reaching the living water that can only be accessed through Christ. Help me to avoid the surface distractions so that I may be transformed through the solitude that we share. Set me free, Lord, to find that inner space where You dwell. Jesus, You are the core of my being. You are the One thing that deserves my full attention and devotion. Under the Word of Christ in Colossians 4:2 and His authority, I bow in the quiet intimacy of prayer.
