My Lord, saturate my thoughts with holy reflections of Your goodness. You have shielded me from dangers I never even became aware of. You have rescued me from threats I could not have perceived. Let my heart be ever grateful for these hidden blessings. My Lord, I want to know You more. I desire to treasure Your perfect love until I am remade in Your likeness. Help me, by the power of Your Spirit, to abandon everything that is not of You. Strip my inner being down to the essence of a solitary life that reflects Your beauty. Make my sole occupation to please You moment by moment because You are worthy. In You, I have serenity that reaches into heaven. In You, I have joy that resonates with the angelic chorus from above. What other meaning can life hold than to walk humbly with my God, remaining in His presence perpetually. My God, You are good. And in Your goodness, my confident assurance of salvation finds sweet rest. Under the mighty Word in Micah 6:8 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you except to be just,
and to love [and to diligently practice] kindness (compassion),
And to walk humbly with your God
[setting aside any overblown sense of importance or self-righteousness]?
