When my body aches with undefined pain, it is You who is my Healer, Lord. When my heart breaks from the re-opening of old wounds, it is You who comforts me in the midst of a storm of hurt. Jesus, let Your Spirit reign upon the throne of my soul so that I am not easily distracted by the afflictions of body or spirit. Take me to new heights where I can adopt an eternal perspective that allows me to remain anchored in joy even when the physical weakness clamors for me to fall into a pit of despair. Truly, You are making all things new. You are the One who conquers death and puts right all that is wrong. Troubles may abound, but You have overcome them all, Jesus. My Shepherd, lead me through every unexpected valley. May Your grace hold me up. May Your love buffer me from the enemy’s assault. May Your Name be glorified through each trial that I am must pass through. Under the blessed Word of comfort in John 16:33 and the authority of Christ, I humbly bow in prayer.
“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!
I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33, NIV
