My God, Your enduring love is my refuge. Your peace is my fortress. Let me not be shaken by the tumultuous circumstances of life. Let me hold fast to Your teaching. For I know that there will be trouble in this world. Yet, I rejoice because You have overcome the world. When I am hard-pressed, lost in the wilderness and starved for holy affection, it is Your staff that leads me to the spacious place. When I am afraid, Your presence is the calm before the storm. When I am perplexed, Your Spirit provides me wisdom. Though the enemy pushes and harasses me, You are my defense. Lead me to praise You, Lord. Draw the boundaries of my life around worship of You. Use my words to glorify You. Hem me in upon the narrow road until the hidden gate is within my view, Lord God. Align my heart with Your will. Let my heart give You adoring thanks for who You are and what You do. Under the Word given in Psalm 118:5-7 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord;
He brought me into a spacious place.
The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?
The Lord is with me; He is my helper.
I look in triumph on my enemies.
