Your light, my LORD, brightens the places I thought light could never reach. You call out the darkness within me. Your counsel quiets even the most restless soul. You walk upon the waves of the storm that creates chaos within me. Your love covers all wounds, both small and deep, with a healing balm that leaves no scars. You expose my deepest hurts. The eyes of the LORD penetrate all false barriers. With Your truth, You destroy all pretense until I stand before You completely undone. As I crumble beneath the weight of the curse upon me, Your forgiveness picks up the pieces and puts me back together. In tenderness, You take my hand and teach me to stand again. And in a moment, I realize that all I have been looking for is found. I feel as if I am whole again as I embrace Your forgiveness. I stand with the support of my Savior holding me. I no longer hide my heart behind the walls I have built around it. Instead, I hold it with open hands as an offering to Jesus. With grace in Your eyes, You gather up my imperfect heart as if it is a treasure. The love between us is united by Your Holy Spirit dwelling within me. And at last I find rest in Your strong, capable arms. My eyes are bright with the light of my soul because the light of the LORD reaches places I thought it never could. Under the Word of John 8:12 and the authority of Christ, I humbly bow in prayer.

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying,
“I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness,
but will have the Light of life.”
