Today’s Prayer

Lord God Almighty, implant my soul with the favor of Your divine nature. Make me a reflection of You in all of Your glorious attributes. With fervency, Lord, I climb upon the altar where my prayers are submissively laid. I cannot become all that You intended me to be without first letting the ruling passions of my flesh be crucified. Father, take me by the hand until I follow only where You lead. May the labor that I do in Your Name be birthed from abiding love. May the service I render Your bride, the church, be motivated by serene intimacy between us. Let my deepest longing be to see You glorified. Holy Spirit, slay the enemy of pride that lingers in the dark recesses of my soul. Subvert the rebellious streak that dominates me through fleshly desire which is contrary to the will of my King. Teach me how to live from heaven’s citizenry when the world attempts to convince me that it is where I belong. By Your power, let me resist what is not true and cling to Your Word with all that has been given me in Christ. I humbly bow before Your sovereignty, Lord. Implant my heart with the grace of Your divine love. Under the Word of truth as present in Romans 8:7-9 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

The mind of the flesh [with its sinful pursuits] is actively hostile to God.
It does not submit itself to God’s law, since it cannot,
and those who are in the flesh
[living a life that caters to sinful appetites and impulses]
cannot please God.
However, you are not [living] in the flesh
[controlled by the sinful nature] but in the Spirit,
if in fact the Spirit of God lives in you [directing and guiding you].
But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ,
he does not belong to Him [and is not a child of God].
Romans 8:7-9, AMP
