Today’s Prayer

Truly the mercies of the LORD are new every morning. God is watching over me because I am His child; He will not forget about me. His compassion soothes the wounds in my soul. His love is what heals me. When I look at His mighty hands, I will be amazed to see my name written there. The LORD God is my creator; my very essence of being is known by Him alone. By the power of His Holy Spirit He is constantly building me, tearing down strongholds and fences – recreating me as His temple. With His protection I need not fear. The enemy, the destroyer of my soul, will run when faced with the jealous love of my God. LORD, help me in those darkest storms to lift my eyes and see Your angel armies surrounding me. Dress me with Your holiness, Your perfection and Your righteousness. For I come before You in the intimacy of our relationship –completely exposed and desiring of Your covering. Help me to throw everything off that is of this world so that I can be fully adorned by Your majesty alone. My God, You are beautiful to me and my one desire. Victory belongs to the King! Clothe me in victory, LORD, that I may rid myself of the rags of defeat. Lead me, Jesus, on the path of victory each and every day as I live through the story You are writing for me. Turn my moments into milestones of worship. Take my days to draw me closer to Your presence. For I will pursue You with praise, Jesus. I will root myself in Your Word. I will know that every ending is a beginning with You. My soul praises You for the happy ending and the beginning of the fairy tale of my eternity with You. Under the Word of truth found in Psalm 90:12 and the authority of Christ, I bow in humble prayer.

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Psalm 90:12, NIV
