To be a vessel for the LORD, our God, is an undeserved honor. Yet He chooses to use His lowly servants to bring His love to the world. There is no other like the LORD God Almighty. What security rests in my heart to know that He is in control. It is God who humbles us when we have grown too proud. It is God who lifts us up and exalts those He will use for His service. I want to be of use to You, my King. Teach me what You want me to know so that Your goodness and love flow through me. Let Your mighty works and absolute truth be all that I talk about. Show me the boundaries You have drawn for me and empower me to stay within them. It is so easy to fall into the trap of pride. May we never think of ourselves more highly than we ought to. LORD, grant me the power of self-forgetfulness so that my soul is completely devoted to You. Daily I bow to the authority of Jesus because He is my one and only teacher. May the things that I learn be filtered through Your Holy Spirit so that all that remains in my thinking is pleasing to You, God. O God, Your knowledge is beyond our grasp. Let us praise the LORD for all that He has shown us, for the truths He has revealed. Truly, I am blessed by the LORD for He has taught me great and marvelous things. Under the Word of God in 2 Corinthians 4:7 and the authority of Christ I pray.
But we have this treasure in jars of clay
to show that this all-surpassing power is from God
and not from us.
2 Corinthians 4:7, NIV
Yet He chooses to use His lowly servants to bring His love to the world. –Thank God!
