Lord, inspire me with Your Holy Spirit. Make the contents of my heart pure by cleansing me with the indwelling power of Your Word. Guard my steps throughout this day, Lord God, until I am walking the path that is pleasing to You. You know that I am prone to wandering, Jesus. You know that I need to link the fingers of my faith into Your presence if I am to stay within the bounds of truth while navigating the deceitful territory of this world. I praise You because You are my guard and my provision. You are my sustenance and my wisdom. Etch the holiness of Your Word into every fiber of my being. Fill me with gratitude for the price You paid on the cross in order to blot out my sins. I am blessed because of Your love. I am redeemed because of Your sacrifice. Keep my eyes heavenward when the daily struggles of life tempt me to forget that these momentary afflictions are far outweighed by the glory that awaits those who believe in Christ Jesus. Let my lips perpetually praise and worship You, Lord God. Let my heart delight in Your testimonies because they are my treasure. On Your ways, I will set my course and fix my steps. Let me not forget all You have done for me in bringing me to life again. Under the Word of God spoken in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory
beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen
but to the things that are unseen.
For the things that are seen are transient,
but the things that are unseen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18, ESV
Guard my steps throughout this day, Lord God, until I am walking the path that is pleasing to You. You know that I am prone to wandering, Jesus–Yes, Lord, guard my-our steps.
