Lord, when I find myself entangled with fears, only You can unravel the mess that I am in. Your tender love for the condition of my heart moves me toward Your compassionate embrace. Though doubts and concerns vex me, I can find courage from the indwelling reign of Your Spirit. Raise me above the shadows of unbelief that convince me it will always be this way. When the grievous malady overtakes faith, undermining the hope with despondency, let me turn to You in prayer, where I know You will strengthen me. Though I come to Your throne-room with a downcast heart, wearing clothes of mourning, You redress me with saving love’s robe of righteousness. In Your presence is joy forevermore. Let me put on this garment of praise so I can dance amidst the storms of life. Let me sing of Your greatness until my heart no longer laments the deplorable perspective of self. I set my eyes on You, Jesus and my shadows are lifted, hope is restored and love reigns over death. Let me not spread the disease of despair among the flock. Rather, use me to be Your vessel of joyful courage. Under the Word of God in Psalm 146:1-3 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
Praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord, my soul.
I will praise the Lord all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Do not put your trust in princes,
in human beings, who cannot save.
Psalm 146:1-3, NIV
