Shine into my soul, Holy Spirit of the Living God, because dark shadows linger, enticing me to stray from the safe haven of truth. Clarify my sight, Jesus, until the blindness of selfish desires is no longer the filter through which I view my life. Even amidst the suffering, there is purpose. Even among the thorns, there is the sweet fragrance of a rose. Though my soul is poor and wretched, Lord, You have claimed me, making me rich in faith and righteousness in Christ. Look upon the vast emptiness within me, Jesus. Fill me daily with Your presence. Shield me from the cultural pressures to conform to that which is acceptable to the world. Rather, let me become molded by Your holy pressing and shaping of my entire being. Father, I am in need of a teacher to instruct me in the way. Let me not depend on yesterday’s revelation. Instead, let me seek Your fresh teaching every morning as the sun rises on a new day. May I never become satisfied with day-old manna when You offer me the fresh dew of Your nearness alongside every sunrise. Each need I have is for the purpose of allowing You to display Your goodness. Every fault that manifests in me is an opportunity for Your grace to abound. Yet, let me not be satiated in my present afflictions when growth of my soul brings the godly testimony I was designed for. Jesus, make me to live in the fullness of Your love, not the weakness of my iniquity. Today and always I will worship You. Under the majesty of the Word in John 6:53, 58 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in grateful prayer.
Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man
and drink His blood, you have no life in you.
This is the bread that came down from heaven.
Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”
John 6:53, 58, NIV
May I never become satisfied with day-old manna when You offer me the fresh dew of Your nearness alongside every sunrise-Amen!
