Today’s Prayer

Oh, sweet majestic sovereign Lord, let Your servant bask in the glorious promises that invite my soul to open itself wide so that You can fill it. Help me to slay my worldly desires upon the altar until none remain. Increase my meager faith, Jesus, so that my soul is not lean with unbelief but abundant in trust. How I delight to enter Your presence, my Lord. How I dance with rejoicing that You have sought me, have saved me, have called me Yours. Why should I hesitate to approach Your throne of grace when the invitation was drawn up with the costly ink of blood upon the cross? Why should I forsake the confidence of the inheritance of Christ by resisting His love? Let me drop the dusty notions of who You are, Lord God, and embrace the revelation You have given me through Jesus. I do not want religion, Lord. I want You. I do not want to be stimulated intellectually without being romanced internally. Let Your comforting grace transform me, God. Let Your beauty radiate from Your beloved. There is such sweet release when those You have destined heed the call and come invited into Your banquet. Thank You, Jesus, for opening the secret chambers of truth, for leading me into the territory of the divine and for warming my heart which was once cold in its rebellion against the King. Let Your bride not refuse the blessed cord of love that binds us to life in Christ. Under the precious Word of truth given in Philippians 2:8-11 and the authority of Christ, I bow in humble prayer.

And being found in human form He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the Name which is above every name,  that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,  and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
