Lord, there are so many things clamoring for my attention. Unscramble the pressing priorities of my life for Your Kingdom pleasure. Cover me with grace that perfects my choices. Steady me with faith that does not stagger even when pummeled by a culture of deception. Warm up my cold heart with a divine love that empowers me to show compassion to the least of these in our world. Jesus, create in me a resolve to hope that lifts me above the miry pit of difficult life circumstances. Lead me away from depending on myself and into that space of sweet dependence on You. Take me out of the habit of indulgence to selfish desire until my wants are captivated by Your holiness. God, I cry out to You in my sorrowing confusion over present situations. Be my refuge, Lord. Be my sanctuary in the midst of history unraveling before my eyes. My past infects my present. My present casts shadows on my future. Lord, make me Your vessel of light to shine beyond the confines of time as a representative of Your eternal Kingdom. Finish what You started until the assigned work is completed to Your glory. Let nothing garner the attention of my heart except Your perfecting love. Under the Word given in Psalm 31:14-16 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in humble prayer.
