My Lord Jesus, You are the bread of life that not only nourishes but fully satisfies my soul. Until You came near, my spiritual starvation was holy unbearable. Until You found me, my soul was utterly lost, feeding on the empty husks of worldly delights. You offered an abundance of love which my famished heart could feast upon. Yours is a hearty love that was made of Your pierced fleshed and cooked in the heat of adversity, seasoned with pain. My despondent soul tasted of Your grace in salvation and became complete by the extravagant morsel of mercy. Lord, let me feed daily on the Word You have given. Nourish me on a daily diet of truth. Strengthen me as I seek to eat of the blessings of heaven even if the troubles of this life provide the heat which fully cooks and sanctifies that which You are teaching me. Jesus, You are my bread of life now and forever more. May my soul feed on nothing less than Your delectable righteousness. Under the Word given in Psalm 34:8-9 and the authority of Christ, I bow in adoring prayer.

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
    Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
