Lord God Almighty, bring to life the affectionate zeal that lies dormant in my heart. Forgive me, Jesus, for being lulled to sleep by the present circumstances which undermine my foundation of faith. Truly my whole being is devoted to You, but I am far too easily distracted by the present worldly concerns pressing for my attention. Make me willing to face the contempt and ridicule that comes with holy living. For those of this world are unable to see the wisdom of following God. I thank You with heart-felt gratitude for the opening of my eyes by the power of faith. Now I can see all myriad of colorful blessings scattered throughout each moment of my daily existence. Even in the darkness, You are light. Even in the chaos, You are peace. Even in the trials, You are teacher. Lord, my God, Your omnipotent love has reached into the depths of my own depravity and made me new. In Your Name I am redeemed. My soul is eternally committed to Your almighty hand. My citizenship is forevermore in heaven. Help me live as an ambassador for Your Kingdom. Only You can resurrect the zeal that leads to action. Keep me awake Lord Jesus so that I may serve You more. Under the might Word of truth in 1 John 3:1-3 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in humble prayer.

Look at how great a love the Father has given us that we should be called God’s children. And we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it didn’t know Him. Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him because we will see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself just as He is pure.
