Cultivate in me a trust of divinely proportioned love, Lord God Almighty, because You are able. With Your voice, You commanded the seas to go no further than the shores You allotted for their boundaries. Keep me within the boundaries of Your Word. With Your mighty arm You flung the stars into the heavens yet called each one by the name of Your choosing. Let me hear You call me by name, Lord. With Your strong hands You reached down from Your throne to set my feet upon a rock. You gave us Your Son! Oh God, when I weigh myself against the measure of Your love I am found severely lacking. If not for Your grace as embodied in Your precious Son I would perish. Forgive my heart’s warring over this present adversity, Lord God. My heart is set on trusting You to come through and lead me where I need to be, whether that be at the stable or the cross or somewhere in between. But no matter where this present circumstance has me, let my trusting heart perpetually live at the empty tomb where I rejoice in Your resurrection power. Under the Word of truth in Proverbs 3:5-12 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life! Honor God with everything you own; give Him the first and the best. Your barns will burst, your wine vats will brim over. But don’t, dear friend, resent God’s discipline; don’t sulk under His loving correction. It’s the child He loves that God corrects; a father’s delight is behind all this.
