God, let me not look to the frightening prospects of the future without first considering Your faithfulness in the past. When my wandering heart is forgetful and unbelieving, bring to my remembrance the way of rescue which You so graciously provided before. For You never leave me to suffer trials without purpose or to endure hardship unnecessarily. Make my heart eyes recognize Kingdom purpose until I am filled with anticipation of Your deliverance. For my long journey has not been without dangers and difficulties. Yet, here I am at this point because Your grace has brought me this far. Truly, in my varied weaknesses Your strength is made perfect, Lord God. Even in Your Word I find records of Your powerful intercession because You loved Your chosen ones. No one faced a battle without chariots of heavenly fire blazing behind them in the unseen realm. No storm assaulted the atmosphere which was not subdued by Your voice. Make Your Word my refuge because it is there that I find truth which comforts and reminds me not to lose heart. May it be to me as You have said and promised, Lord. Let me not look to the frightening prospects of the future because You are already there. Under the comforting Word of Isaiah 41:10 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I come before the throne in prayer.
