Great God and Creator of all that was, that is and that will be, Your unalterable affections are the anchor for the turbulent propensity of my soul. Your omnipotent grace is the overshadow of my myriad weaknesses. Your infallible truthfulness is my cornerstone, my sure foundation, upon which the house of my soul is securely built. I am but a poorly cut stone in need of Your magnificent shaping. I am a broken vessel in need of Your mending. I am a waif easily blown about by the changing winds of culture. I need Your Holy Spirit to breathe on me the eternal winds which blow in the direction of the Kingdom of Heaven. Polish Your servant, Lord, so that I am ready to be placed in the spot designated for me. Use the afflictions to sanctify and the trials to refine all within me that is unbefitting of a Kingdom child. I cry out to You, Lord Jesus, to fashion the naked vulnerability of my soul with Your garments of glorious righteousness. Left on my own, all would crumble beneath me in shame and disgrace. Thank You for looking beyond what is, Lord Jesus, and setting Your loving gaze on what had yet to be within me. And when You have made me ready, have completed Your work and accepted my finished assignments, ferry me across death’s torrential river until I am welcomed into the safe haven of my heavenly home. Under the Word given in John 20:21-23 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I kneel in humble prayer.
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent Me, even so I am sending you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”
John 20:21-23, ESV
Thank You for looking beyond what is, Lord Jesus, and setting Your loving gaze on what had yet to be within me–Amen!
