My Lord and my God, usher Your beloved servant into the fullness of new birth where the old has passed away and the new has come. Teach me to live as the new creation in Christ You have designated me to be. Empower me in Your Spirit to leave old habits behind in order to practice the holiness with which I can best reflect You, Jesus. Cast me into the refining fires of life’s trials if You know that it will make me the version of myself You originally designed me to be. The secrets of my heart are not hidden from You, Lord. Help me surrender my former lusts for godly desires. Tame my tongue so that my speech reflects the encouragement and love that is the hallmark of heaven’s citizens. My Father in heaven, I want to abandon the flesh so that there is more room for the Spirit to reign in me. As I come to You climbing the mountain of prayer, confessing the burden of my iniquity, may my cleansing tears be an offering upon the altar. In gratitude, I bow before Your faithfulness, knowing that the work You have begun in me will surely be brought to completion, not because of who I am but because of who You are and will always be. Under the beauty and might of the Word in Philippians 1:6 and the authority of Christ, I humbly bow before You in prayer.

I am confident of this, that the One who began a good work among you
will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ.
