My blessed Lord and Savior, set me on the firm foundation of salvation. Teach me what it looks like to abide in You, Jesus. For I do not want my faith to appear as a mirage that shifts with circumstantial perspective. Let hope not be a mere rainbow of colors that are beautiful but vanish when fleecy clouds appear and the sun gives way to the rainstorm. Lord, let Your servant’s love not be as transitory as sunbeams kissing fat raindrops. Inscribe truth deep into my heart with Your finger of conviction. Let Your sculpting hand of perfection mold me into Your image, Lord, or I will resemble a useless lump of clay. Grant me godly character that sustains radiant glory reflecting back on You as one whose devotion is built upon an eternal rock, not on the sandy shore of this world. Root me in love, Jesus. Drive out all disease of hypocrisy so that every branch can bear fruit worthy of Your Kingdom. Bloom in me an earnest desire to please You, not myself. And if the winds of adversity blow into my life, let me not fear because our abiding connection is my anchor in the storm. Water me with Your Word until the roots of my faith reach deep into Your heart, God. Make Your servant grow from there. Under the mighty Word of the Lord in Matthew 7:24-25 and the authority of Christ Jesus I bow in humble prayer.
Whoever hears these words of Mine and does them, will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain came down. The water came up. The wind blew and hit the house. The house did not fall because it was built on rock.
