Lord, the rival of self-awareness is cast out of my heart when I fully abide in You. I seek You in all earnestness at the dawning of a new day and the close of the evening, and each breath giving moments in between. Let nothing hold me back from the same relentless pursuit with which You chased me down. When fear incites me to flee, it is the anchor of Your Spirit which keeps me steadfast. When my heart thirsts for holiness it is Your love that rains down on the parched soil until sowed seeds are given new growth. When my soul hungers for truth it is Your Word that satisfies. Teach me, Lord Jesus, to press on despite life’s travails. Lead me to abide even though life’s distractions abound. Take my tears of longing for safe-keeping in Your Kingdom. I weep with great desire for Your perpetual presence in a hostile world. Let me fall at Your feet daily in tearful worship that pours out the contents of my heart in a humble act of anointing. Under the Word of truth in Psalm 62:8 and the authority of Christ I bow in adoring prayer.

Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.
