I have no need, my LORD, that You cannot satisfy. When I am hungry, You are my bread. When I am thirsty, You are the water that quenches my thirst. You have fed me Your love and let me partake of Your righteousness. Though I stole, because of my starvation, food that would not fill me up, You, O LORD, invited me to Your banquet. In Your presence I recognize the deep hunger of my soul that can only be satisfied by You. You came to me. Your penetrating gaze looking at the empty hunger of my soul was powerful and gentle. You offered me Yourself as bread broken for me. Forgive me, O LORD Jesus, that in my starvation I had no thankfulness in my heart. I did not recognize Your faithfulness in the midst of my hunger. I willingly followed the lies of our enemy as I searched for an end to the emptiness. Into the darkness I was led to grow hungrier. I was blinded to the goodness that You offered me. Jesus, You are the source of all life, the sustainer of my breath. My appetite for You grows ever larger in my heart. You are all that there is for my soul to feed on. Your Word is my truth, my sustenance, my daily bread. In You, I have life everlasting. In Your presence, I am completely satisfied. O, that I would no longer feed on the lies of this world but would feast on the truth of God’s love for me in His precious Son, Jesus. In You, O LORD, I will never go hungry again. Under the mighty Word of the Lord in Matthew 5:6 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
