Today’s Prayer

Soak me in Your Spirit of holiness, my Lord, so that when I am squeezed by life’s troubles, Your anointing will pour out of me in kindness, love, peace and grace. Penetrate down to the depths of my soul with Your Living Water so that all nourishment draws the roots of my faith into the beauty of Your heart. Make me a reflection of You, Jesus, in the way I live. Empower me to submit even though my rebellious nature is inclined toward self-defense. Equip me to serve despite the fact that I want others to serve me. Teach me the true meaning of love that sacrifices, love that endures, love that never fails. Help me to love as a response to You, not as a means to satisfy my own emptiness. Lord, You are all sufficient, glorious and perfect. When I am weary, let me hold to the promise of Your rest. Complete in me the work You began, Lord. May all who belong to You be united in faith, secure in the assurance of victory because Christ is our King. Beneath Your radiant splendor, and in the power of the Spirit, I need not fear failure in reaching the destiny redeemed by the cross. Under the mighty Word given in Hebrews 4:1-2 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still stands,
let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it.

For good news came to us just as to them,
but the message they heard did not benefit them,
because they were not united by faith with those who listened.
Hebrews 4:1-2, ESV
