Today’s Prayer

Take me deep into the darkness if that is where I might find You, my LORD. For my heart cannot stand without the love You give me. Lead me to the highest heights where fear grips me, but let my faith not falter. For I cannot be without my God. When the road before me causes me to stumble and fall, it is then that You lift me up. Guide me Jesus, to wherever Your heart is, for that is my home. O God, who am I that You would even grant me access to Your love? Who am I without You, O LORD? My breath, my life come from You alone. In love, I seek You because You first loved me. Take me by the hand to Your unapproachable light that I may be lost in Your majesty. For You are my one desire. My one purpose is to bring You glory. Lead me into the deepest waters where You stand and empower me to come to You upon the waves, Jesus. For You alone can make me walk upon the deep and not succumb to its grasp. When I have wandered into enemy territory, it is then that You rescue me. Save me Jesus, from the things that threaten to consume me. These schemes of Satan sent to distract me from You can be thwarted at Your command. Let Your blood wash away the stains of this curse upon me; that I might be restored as You created me to be. O, that I could but glimpse what You see in me so that my hope might be fulfilled. Take me into Yourself, Jesus. Lead me home. Fulfill Your glory with my ransomed life however You may choose, my God and my King. Hold me so I can hold nothing back. Under the Word of life in Psalm 61:1-3 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

Hear my cry, O God,
    listen to my prayer;
from the end of the earth I call to You
    when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock
    that is higher than I,
for You have been my refuge,
    a strong tower against the enemy.
Psalm 61:1-3, ESV
