Lord, turn me around to see the error of my ways. Lead me to the higher place where my skewed perspective is straightened by a reminder of eternity. For I do not want preoccupations with personal justice to be the motivating force in my life. I do not want to become as one easily offended. Make me less obsessed with being understood, Lord God, and more concerned with understanding my brothers and sisters. This world and its concerns will surely pass away but Your truth and Your Word stand forever in holiness, binding those who call on You by Name. Even in silence let me be quick to listen and slow to speak. For my internal dialogue is often louder than the whispering counsel of Your voice. Make Your servant into a peacemaker, representative of Your heart, God. Empower me with grace bestowed upon me so that I can bestow it upon others in need. Under the blessed Word of the Lord in 1 Peter 1:24-25 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
“People are like grass;
their beauty is like a flower in the field.
The grass withers and the flower fades.
But the Word of the Lord remains forever.”
1 Peter 1:24-25, NLT
Lead me to the higher place where my skewed perspective is straightened by a reminder of eternity–Amen!
