Merciful and faithful is the guidance of Your Spirit, Lord. Perpetual is the truth which undergirds a tempted heart, providing resistance and escape whenever needed, wherever sought. Let me not turn my back on Your way, Jesus. I know that my selfish way only leads to death. Assist me to turn back no matter how far I have strayed. Remove misplaced fear until holy fear motivates my steps in Your direction. Any lingering hatred within me should be directed toward sin alone. May the love within me consume the empty cavity until it overflows from You onto the world around me. With swift steps let me flee iniquity as I follow the path of godliness without hesitation. I take solace in Your mercy. I find relief in Your grace. Incline my heart in all its applications to honor and uphold the greatness of Your Name. Under the beauty of the Word in 1 Corinthians 10:13 and the authority of Christ, I bow in humble prayer.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
