Today’s Prayer

My hope rises and falls within my soul like the rising and setting of the sun. Have mercy on me, my LORD, for I will yet trust in You. For You are the One who lights my way. For You are the One who shines forth like the dawn. In Jesus, my strength rises, enabling me to carry on. In Jesus, I have been given everything I need for godliness and faithfulness. When I am in distress, O LORD, it is You who hears my prayers. When I am in trouble, God, it is You who protects me. O that I would be empowered with obedience that comes through faith. O that I would be steady in the truth of Your love. The embrace of the LORD is my refuge. His compassion fails me not. Let the gratitude in my heart rise as I discover the truth is Jesus. Let my praise rise and stretch across the skies as my soul adores You, God. The King brings His majesty and blesses His beloved. Why, my soul, do you fall and stumble in darkness? Arise and walk in the light of the LORD. For Your way stretches out before you. There is no better path to be on than the one that the LORD has placed me on. There is no hardship that cannot be overcome by the love of Jesus. Help me remember, LORD, that I am from God and the One inside me is greater than the one who is in the world. Rise up in me, Spirit of the living God. My hope rests secure in my soul. My heart finds peace in the hands of my Savior. For my soul will rise from the ashes of despair to dance in the beauty of hope. Under the blessing of the Word in Psalm 18:28-30 and the authority of my Savior and Lord Christ Jesus.

You light a lamp for me.
    The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.
In Your strength I can crush an army;
    with my God I can scale any wall.
God’s way is perfect.
    All the Lord’s promises prove true.
    He is a shield for all who look to Him for protection.
Psalm 18:28-30, NLT
