Today’s Prayer

My Lord, within the serpent-infested desert of this world my sojourning soul too often loses its way. Forgive my wandering tendencies, Jesus. I seek Your heart for guidance and Your hands for healing. When the blisters of physical infirmity prove too much for my spirit to endure, let me cry out to You for deliverance. When the heavy emotions of despondency take me into valleys that are better left unexplored, lift me out of the miry pits my tears prevent me from steering clear of. Let me be perpetually grateful that You are my door, Jesus. Your words of truth woo and allure. Your presence is my way. Your love is my life. Thankful for the grace that binds my wounded soul, remedying the infirmity within, I worship You even in the throes of physical pain. Thankful for the mercy that tempers uncontrolled emotions through awareness of Your nearness, I praise You. Stand me strong in Your mighty Name for I will not surrender to the enemy. Anchor me steady with divine love for I will not give into carnal leanings. If I sway, let it be in the direction of the wind of Your Spirit alone. Move me where You will, how you will and when you will. May it all be for Kingdom glory, my Lord. Under the Word given in Hosea 2:14-15 and the authority of Christ, I bow in humble prayer.

“Therefore I am now going to allure her;
    I will lead her into the wilderness
    and speak tenderly to her.
There I will give her back her vineyards,
    and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope.
There she will respond as in the days of her youth.”
Hosea 2:14-15, NIV
