Father, there is a void within my soul that is only fit for Your Spirit’s filling. My heart is bent toward unholy passions unless the power of Your Spirit stretches me back into alignment with You. Take me as I am, but I am implore You not to leave me there. In holy submission, I wait for You to pull me into Your comforting embrace. My troubles are no match for the peace of Your presence. My failures are nothing beneath the grace-filled shadow of the cross. May Your servant walk upon the waves of gratitude with eyes fixed on You, Jesus. Let me not sink into the tempest of selfish desire. Protect me from myself Lord because You have vanquished the enemies that scandalously pursue me. Father, pick me up out of the pit so that I can sing Your praises. For You are holy and just, Lord God. You are wisdom and mystery that guides each step with the revelation of truth. Keep me safe within the boundaries of Your Holy Word. Keep me close to You so that the snare of deception does not deafen me to the whisper of Your voice. When I look upon the created world, my eyes glorify You in astonishment for the beauty of a sunrise, for the sparkle of a single star against the backdrop of darkness and for the fat raindrops which bring nourishment in dry seasons. You are the Living Water, the Light in the darkness and the only One who is making all things new, including Your servant. Under the mighty Word of God found in Revelation 21:5 and the authority of Christ, I bow in adoring prayer.
