My Lord, may the good desires of my heart turn into the fragrant blossoms of Christ-likeness. Take Your pruning shears and cut off all irrelevant and useless thought until the essence of my being is desirous of Your glory alone. Trim and cut away any and all contrary inclinations. Spirit, remove the obstructions which hinder me from remaining within the totality of my Savior’s love. By Your mighty power, purify me from my sinful disposition, Lord. Even if the progress is painstakingly slow Lord, grant me the steadfastness to submit to Your process of reshaping the contents of my soul. The illnesses of my heart have made me altogether sick with selfishness and infirmity. But You can make me whole again. Grant Your beloved the courage and patient diligence to wait for healing, to wait for the eternal cure of being in Your Kingdom to worship You forever and without hindrance. Let this heart of mine not be carried away by lesser pursuits of insignificant worldly impact. Make me wary, Lord Jesus, of taking flight on wings of weak faith. Only in the power of Your Spirit and the patience to wait upon You can I truly soar, alighting on the branch in which Your perfect will can be carried out. Therefore, I will not despair over the myriad of my imperfections because Your holy pruning is the perfection that brings You glory while releasing the sweet fragrance of truest love. Under the Word given in Isaiah 4:2-3 and the authority of Christ, I bow in humble prayer.
In that day the branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land shall be the pride and honor of the survivors of Israel. And he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy, everyone who has been recorded for life in Jerusalem.
Isaiah 4:2-3, ESV
Even if the progress is painstakingly slow Lord, grant me the steadfastness to submit to Your process of reshaping the contents of my soul–Amen!“
