Today’s Prayer

Holy Father, Righteous King, make the ears of my heart attentive to Your truth. Open my soul to the revelation of Your will. Let your abundant mercy pour over me as rain from heaven quenching the dry ground. My innermost being rejoices because, by way of the cross, You have absolved my guilt. My love reaches new bounds because You, Jesus, have reconciled me to God. The spiritual melodies of Kingdom glory resound within me as perpetual worship. All things have been made new and all things are being made new. The stunning mystery takes my breath away, Lord. I do not need to grasp it all with the reasoning of my mind when my faithful heart trusts in You. Everlasting life was Yours to give. How astonishing that You sought to give it to one as unworthy as me. Let me come to the altar in praise, laying down that which once deceived me because my passions were tainted with undesirable qualities. Now I know what true value is. Burn up all within me that is unfit for Kingdom essence. For every vain inclination is chaff. Every former worldly pursuit only leads to death. Every toxic relationship is Yours to transform into an opportunity to teach the gospel or to rid me of it completely. I re-identify as Yours, Jesus, and nothing more. Let me live as an extension to You. Under the mighty Word of truth in Mark 8:35-36 and the authority of Christ, I bow in devoted prayer.

If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for My sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
Mark 8:35-36, NLT
