Bring the dawn of Your love to chase away the shadows of the midnight of my soul, Jesus. Make the wispy, lurking presence of unconfessed sin flee before You when my soul is laid bare upon Your altar of prayer. My cold and darkened heart is drawn like a fluttering moth to the fires of divine grace. Jesus, Your presence is the warmth that melts my inner being. Come in the power of the Word, holy and true. My errors are numerous and multiplying. Keep me beneath Your watchful gaze. Pray for my faith to strengthen despite my failures, Lord. The storm clouds hover on the horizon of the inner sanctuary. You are my refuge when the deluge of condemnation floods the peace You have given me. Anchor me to You, Lord, in such tumultuous times. Even in the night-watch the stars are still visible, guiding the course of the ship. And so Your presence, Your truth, guides me like a beacon through every storm. The daylight wanes but even when the celestial body is enveloped by the horizon line, the promise of a new day doesn’t tarry. You are the bright, morning star, the light against the present darkness. I am Yours. Under the Word of truth in Revelation 22:16-17 and the authority of Christ Jesus, Savior of my soul, I pray.
I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.” The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.
