Father, to be wanted by You is a truth my heart resists. I know my iniquity and my failures are ever before me. With tender fingertips You turn my gaze off myself and into the dazzling sprinkle of blood upon the altar. Because of the blood of Christ which covers me in salvation, I have been forgiven, cleansed and made new. Why does my wandering soul resist the enormity of such grace? Transform me by Your boundless power of re-creation, Lord. Though there is much work to be done in me, You are faithful to complete it. The sacred majesty of Your mercy beckons my grievous soul. Awash with grateful adoration, I come before You whole and adoring. Let me continually plead with my soul to repent of wicked ways, of selfish thoughts and ignoble pursuits. Turn me toward purity, humility and love divine, Jesus. Shine into the darkest places until You and I are one with the light. It is in Your pardon that I am set free. It is in Your grace that my heart beats again. Breathe Your peace into my soul, Lord. Even though my understanding is minimal, Your indwelling Spirit is my sanctity. The beauty of forgiveness pours like a waterfall from the heavenly realms until the emptiness within me is filled with new life in my Savior. Under the Word of the Lord given in John 17:18-20 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.
As You sent Me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify Myself, that they too may be truly sanctified. My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message.
John 17:18-20, NIV
