Lord Jesus, despite the poverty of my soul, You have graciously invited me to the banquet of salvation. Though I stumble because of a propensity toward vile rebellion and the pursuit of vain amusements, You have captured my heart’s attentions. How captivating is Your divine love! How cleansing is the mercy bestowed upon the cross. My emptiness is acutely felt, Lord. Let my soul not remain resistant to Your supreme sufficiency. You are the bread of life, the nourishment that completely satisfies. Only the morsels of heavenly truth can make me healthy again. Only the decadence of grace and love can strengthen me for Kingdom service. I have brought nothing to this table Jesus, but still You offer me everything You have. May I eat and be filled with the goodness of my King. For You have promised to fill whatever is open to You. So I willingly open my heart wide and joyfully accept the indwelling presence of Your Holy Spirit. Under the mighty Word of truth in Psalm 81:10 and the authority of Christ Jesus I bow in grateful prayer.
