My Lord, let Your solemn righteousness find shelter in my heart. Surely this world is in need of Your reproof. Let it begin with the transformation of my own heart. Yes, I am far too eager to point out the flaws of others and far less able to see my own follies contributing to this fallen world. Grant me a spirit of discernment that enables me to accurately view the world around me – both its beauty and its misery. For You have created all things good, and that good is worth fighting for, worth restoring. Jesus, You have shown us what is good, truly good. You have revealed the beauty of a humble walk with our God. Let it be so, Lord. Draw Your people back upon the straight and narrow way. Let us see the manifest beauty of trials and the holy benefit of self-sacrificing love. Let us see the image-bearing potential within the most abrasive of our companions. Since You never gave up on me, surely I should not give up on another soul destined to belong to You. Though I become heavily burdened, I know I can find rest in You, my Lord and Savior. Father, let Your Holy Spirit shelter my heart in the protective embrace of Your salvation through faith. Under the mighty Word of truth in 2 Corinthians 2:10 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.
Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ.
2 Corinthians 2:10, ESV
Grant me a spirit of discernment that enables me to accurately view the world around me – both its beauty and its misery. For You have created all things good, and that good is worth fighting for, worth restoring. Jesus, You have shown us what is good, truly good. You have revealed the beauty of a humble walk with our God. Let it be so, Lord-Amen!
