Today’s Prayer

Father, when my eyes gaze upon the magnificence of Your love displayed on the cross, my selfish protestations are holy hushed. In this quiet space I delight to commune with You. Joy floods my heart as the uniting impact of prayer brings me closer to You, my Lord and Savior. The enemy convinced me to cling to the misperception that silence represented either anger or aloofness from my God. Yet, by faith, I now understand silence as a beautiful opportunity to listen for the still, small voice. Silence is an invitation to wait that exercises trust and increases my faith muscles. In the quiet place is a chance to feel Your nearness and embrace Your love because You have invited me to rest. Yes, Lord, when I still my chaotic heart enough, I can hear the beautiful lyrics of salvation that only Your lips can sing over me. And in this listening, this waiting, this quiet place, I will dance with You, my King. Under the Words given in Zephaniah 3:17 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in adoring prayer.

Yahweh, your God, is among you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in His love. He will rejoice over you with singing.
