My Lord, let prayer be to me a privilege and not a ritual. Let it be to my heart a first resort instead of a last response. For the victory is all the more sweet when I have moved through the battlefield carried by the chariot of prayer. The desperate petitions of my heart foster growth in faith when diligent prayer brought about answers I sought. The desired blessings and spiritual gifts asked for are so much more beautiful to receive when appreciated in prayer. Above all else, such guarded intimacy with my Lord is a craving I never want fully satisfied to the point of forgetfulness. All good things come from Your hand, my Father in heaven. Every battle is won because of Your strength. Every good work is accomplished by the power of Your Spirit. You do not need me, but I need You. You want me, so let me want to enter into constant prayer with You. If weariness and trouble silences me, draw my heart out to talk to You, Lord. If prosperity and riches distract me with noise, quiet my soul in communion with You. If I accomplish nothing else noteworthy in life it matters not as long as I meet You daily in prayer. Under the counsel of the Word found in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 and the authority of Christ Jesus I pray.
Always rejoice. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.
