My Lord, the flickering shadows of doubt eclipse the joy of my salvation. I am fully aware of my past indiscretions and am anxiously apprehensive of my future ones. I long for perfection that I know is reserved for the realm of the eternal. When the shouts of the enemy sound louder in my heart than Your words of life, let me come to You in prayer so that Your light can vanquish the shadows haunting me. Though my sins be many, why should I doubt that my soul will be gathered with the saints? Your forgiveness is far more powerful than my propensity to rebel against You. Why should I fear the false accusations that categorize me with the wicked when Your promises hold true, when Your sacrifice procured my pardon? When I am prone to focus on my unfruitfulness, my setbacks and my lack, Lord remind me of the complete covering of Your grace. Your love is far too passionate to be easily turned away by my prevailing corruptions. And so I come to You with these chasing shadows, knowing Your assurance will easily blow them away. Whatever I am does not matter as long as I am with You and in You. Jesus, You are my redeemer. Your heart claimed my soul for heaven. In that blessed light, let me stand forever more. Under the mighty Word of God found in Romans 3:25-26 and the authority of Christ Jesus, Savior of my soul, I humbly bow in prayer.
God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of His blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— He did it to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
Romans 3:25-26, NIV
Whatever I am does not matter as long as I am with You and in You–Amen!
