Today’s Prayer

My settled joy is built on nothing less than Your promise of heavenly glory, God. When my weary heart is clouded by worldly grief, the sunbeams of Your celestial Kingdom remind me that there is more to see beyond the clouds of present circumstance. When the corruptions of my flesh tempt me to move in directions away from You, the magnetic pull of the incorruptible Kingdom allow me to overcome. It is true that there are days when the battlefield is far too exhausting. Days when I do not want to face the foes within me or fight the demons surrounding me. In those days I lift my shield of faith in the strength of the Kingdom which is my home and I find rest, protected rest, from the battle. For the place my soul belongs will not be a place of war or contention. No defilement will mar the luster of perfection. No corruption will maim the serenity of complete restoration. Even now, Lord, You have put a glimpse of this destiny in my heart. You have granted me a sanctifying longing for nearness to You. Truly, Lord God, Your perfect love is the foundation for my perseverance. Under the mighty Word of Your truth in John 16:33 and the authority of Christ I bow in prayer.

I have told you these things, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.
John 16:33, WEB
