Though troubles and afflictions have been appointed to me, I trust You, Lord God Almighty, with the keeping of my heart. For You, Jesus, are my friend when all other friends have forsaken me. You are my relief when stress and anxiety overwhelm me. You are my healer when my body is broken, my joy when my heart is heavy and my truth when everything around me deceives. May my faith continually reach to the heavens where the sun shines beyond the present clouds. This momentary, present affliction can be used for Your glory, Lord. The best wine is a result of crushed grapes. May my current trouble heighten the coming joy. Peace is sweeter after conflict. Relief is welcomed after much tribulation. If I had not known the gravity of sin nor the sorrow of this world I would not have been honored with such depth of faith in love with my Savior and Lord. Under the beauty of Your Word found in 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 and the authority of Christ I pray.

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.  For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
