Today’s Prayer

My spirit quickens within me, Lord, as I dwell upon the magnitude of Your eternal love. My faith in You, Jesus, has become a flame of holy adoration that burns as a furnace within me. You are the matchless Savior whose love is stronger than death. You endured the trial designed for my soul by taking the punishment and paying the penalty on the cross. Who am I to complain about the unfairness of my life circumstances? Though Your death was drawn out, Your love survived the torture. Who am I to lament impatiently when I perceive that You do not answer my prayer pleas? You willingly embraced the curse of loneliness as the Father turned His face away from You so that He would not turn His face away from me. Who am I to grumble about my lack? Lord, let me have a daily reminder that leads me to meditate with heavenly affection on the power of the cross. Only then can I live in that power, forsaking the flesh by embracing the Spirit You have given me. Under the mighty power of the Word found in 1 Corinthians 1:18 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in humble prayer.

For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18, ESV
