My Lord and blessed Savior, increase the vitality of faith through the empowerment of the Spirit. Let me not doze off when circumstantial peace offers a respite of complacency. Once my weariness has abated, provoke me to re-enter the battle for truth because the father of lies never ceases to gain ground in this world. Wake up the deepest recess of my soul, Jesus, so that I cling to You and nothing else. As sap permeates the inner working of the tree, invisible to the eyes, so Your Spirit works in me to bring truth, hope and love throughout my entire being. Flow through me in revitalizing power, Lord God, so that I can become Your weapon, wielded by Your mighty will as You make Yourself known throughout this troubled and tired world. May Your Spirit be my guide, fueling my conduct and conversation with divine life. Jesus, You are life and apart from You all within me is dead. Under the beauty of the Word found in John 15:4 and the authority of Christ I bow in prayer.
