Today’s Prayer

Lord, Your unchanging, perfect, divine love is my solace. You are the same yesterday and today and forever. My heart gladly quenches its thirst from the spring that is eternal, the fountain whose waters never run dry. In seasons of scarcity I know I have enough because I have You. In times of drought my faith need not wither because You have shown me the way to this secret place Jesus -the place where Living Water never runs dry. What a blessed renewal of grace that I can find the narrow path and walk along it. What a blessed mercy that You separated me out, Lord, by eternal decree, that You sealed my soul with redemption’s kiss and that the way home was finally revealed. Truly, You are the One who keeps the spring of life flowing within me. Lord, let me not neglect meeting You in the secret place. Let me continually seek You to refine my inner being into Your likeness by the cleansing waters of truth and hope. Lead me to devout love, Lord Jesus; love that delights to abide and comes daily to the waters of salvation. I resort to You in time of need, Lord. I delight in You in times of prosperity. Even when I have fought my last battle and am dreary with parched emotion, You are there with open hands to fill my cup again. Under the magnificence of the Word in Psalm 1:1-3 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in adoring prayer.

Blessed is the man
    who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
    nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
    and on His law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree
    planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
    and its leaf does not wither.
Psalm 1:1-3, ESV
