My holy and blessed Father in heaven, open my heart as a gateway to my entire being for the magnificent power of Your indwelling Spirit. Only You can uphold me and set me free from the binding habits my wandering heart returns to. Without You, Lord Jesus, I am so alone in my fleshly weaknesses. I find myself wanting to be my own defender, wanting to follow the desires of selfish instinct and wanting to justify my own behavior. But the truth is that you are the One who justifies and guides me, Lord. Let me not carry out any transaction without Your blessing. To attempt anything apart from You is foolishness. You are the giver of everything good and necessary in my life. Every pure thought, devoted prayer and act of grace claims Your authorship in my life. May every planted seed produce the fruit You desire, Lord, rather than lying dormant in my wandering heart. For when I bow before You in prayer accompanied by Your Spirit only then is intercession made for me. For when my sin nature is subdued and temptation averted it is Your power that provides a means of escape. Lord Almighty, fill Your servant with ardor and zeal that flows from the vine straight into the branch of my life. Without You, Holy Spirit of the Living God, I can do nothing. Under the mighty Word of God in John 15:5 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I pray.

I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
