Today’s Prayer

Lord, my Savior and holy King, how pleasant is Your presence. How sweet is Your counsel. When the world experiences a spiritual drought Lord, let the deep reservoirs of my faith in You bubble up like a spring of Living Water. When holiness no longer rains from heaven, let Your peace reign within my heart. For You are not with Your beloved in the superficiality of carnal awareness, but in the depth of spiritual truth and holy promises kept. Inflame the divine love burning as embers within my soul. Consume all worldly lusts until the only desire left in me is for Your glory. The merest glimpse of Your all-consuming passion unravels the webs of shame which tangle me up. The faintest fragrance of Your sacrificial love dropping from the pivotal moment of history strengthens my weary heart with hope. Open my cold soul to the reception of Your warm compassion, Jesus. Set me ablaze with heaven’s radiance so that I glow with Your love, quiver with awe and dazzle with truth dripping from anointed lips. Make me equal to the labor You have assigned me. Make me capable of enduring the allotted suffering. Bring Your servant by the power of the Spirit of the Living God into union with You. Jesus, let my life mission align radiantly with Yours. Under the beauty of the Word given in Matthew 26:39 and the authority of Christ, my Savior I bow in humble prayer.

Going a little farther, He fell with His face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.”
Matthew 26:39, NIV
