Guide my daily steps with the assured footing of Your continual presence, Lord God. Though I sometimes do not feel the nearness of Your Shepherd’s staff, I know it is there nonetheless. You have rooted my heart in the declaration of the promise that I will not be abandoned nor forsaken by You. Your love is far greater than my human experience allows me to fathom. Your peace is far more encompassing than my present fears can resist. Draw my soul into Your heart through the radiant majesty of Your precious Word. Take my perspective higher than earthly circumstances have previously allowed Lord. Without Your guidance Jesus, my heart will wander aimlessly into the territory of the enemy. Reveal to me the boundaries of holy living which will keep me protected from the vile subtleties and deceitful snares. Only You know the oath I should take, Lord. Jesus, You are my way. Here I will wait upon Your guidance, trusting my next step to the footprints of Your will. Under the beauty of the Word given in Psalm 23:1-3 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in adoring prayer.

Yahweh is my shepherd:
