The majesty of Your Name is a beacon of light in the darkest seasons, Lord God. Your resolute perfection and awesome power strike fear in the rebel heart. Your glory is the comfort and purpose of every saint. By Your love the weak are made strong. By Your grace the unlikely are chosen. Against any foe I can stand if I stand in You, Jesus. Though heavy burdens weigh me down and life responsibilities war against my soul’s peace, You turn my chin up to heaven, reminding me that I do not battle alone. Your daily antidote to the poison of worldly chaos is freely offered through Your Word. Fix my eyes on You, Jesus. Open my heart to Your plan and not my own. Keep me secured in truth especially when the arrows of deceit fly from the mouths of those I love. Let me cling to the majesty of Your Name that I might sing Your praises and walk in truth all of my days, whether dark or light. Under the beauty of Your Word in Psalm 8:1-4 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.
Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is Your Name in all the earth!
You have set Your glory
in the heavens.
Through the praise of children and infants
You have established a stronghold against Your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
When I consider Your heavens,
the work of Your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which You have set in place,
what is mankind that You are mindful of them,
human beings that You care for them?
Psalm 8:1-4, ESV
By Your grace the unlikely are chosen. Against any foe I can stand if I stand in You, Jesus–Amen!
