Lord God Almighty, I set my sorrows before You because only You can soothe my soul. When I stagger beneath a weight of earthly care, let me cast such burdens upon You. Your strength is heavenly, Lord. Your compassion fails me not. With patience and a willingness to learn, I come before Your throne knowing that, in Your loving providence, You have not passed over Your beloved. Let the protection of Your love envelope me in its totality. Let the mercy of Your presence nourish me with its power of satisfaction. My contentment is in You, Jesus, because I have put my trust there. Whatever has shattered in my life, You delight to put back together. That which is broken is not beyond Your ability to repair. Quiet the restlessness that accompanies the storm of my worries. With Your voice of command the tempest is hushed. Let me stand strong as I turn from Your altar where I have laid my concerns to rest. Let me stand girded with the weapons of faith because I cast my cares upon You, my Savior and King. Under the Word of the Lord in 1 Peter 5:6-7 and the authority of Christ Jesus I bow in adoring prayer.

So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; He’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; He is most careful with you.
