My Father in heaven, You are the great instructor. You are my holy tutor. May my heart and mind remain supple to the teaching only Your Spirit can impart. Cultivate in me an eternal perception that can find joy in sorrow, purpose in pain. Give me an inward taste for truth as You make all deception bitter in my thoughts. School me by way of gracious discipline Lord, until I am shaped adequately into Your image. The fruit within can only ripen when it receives the daily drink of Living Water, when it basks beneath the light of nourishment gleaned from Your Word. Spirit of the Living God, unfold the mysteries of the Kingdom until my heart is gloriously delighted. Grant me glimpses of Your majesty that dazzle and lift the veil of selfish intentions. Though my life may be unnoticed and neglected, as long as it points to You, Jesus, I will not have lived in vain. Remove the carnal desires for validity and human appraisal, Lord. Penetrate the crust of self-awareness until my holy focus is set alone on Your glory, until my heart and mind receive the heavenly instruction that transforms and sanctifies. Save me, Lord Jesus, from utter ignorance as You lead me by the hand through the gracious valley of wisdom. Those sitting at Your feet are truly living. Under the Word given in John 6:44-45 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.
